Alt-country takes the stage at The Bunker Performance Lounge & Cafe on Saturday, May 9 as Mallory Johnson brings her powerful songwriting and distinctive sound to our listening room.

Mallory Johnson is a 4x ECMA winner, 4x CCMA nominee, and one of the most compelling voices in Canadian alt-country. With more than one million streams across her catalogue, her music blends dark Americana with Celtic and folk roots—a sound that takes centre stage on her sophomore album over the party. Produced by Andrew Petroff (Sheryl Crow, Madeline Edwards, Meg McRee), the record highlights Mallory’s growth as a songwriter willing to explore emotional complexity and creative risk.

The album reached #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and earned five 2026 ECMA nominations, alongside a 2025 MusicNL win for Country Artist of the Year. Her debut album Surprise Party also received wide recognition, earning the 2023 ECMA for Country Recording of the Year and praise from outlets including PEOPLE, CMT, The Boot, and the Toronto Star. The viral single “Married” from that project gained more than 26 million views on TikTok.

On stage, Mallory has shared bills with artists such as Shania Twain, Blake Shelton, Alan Doyle, Serena Ryder, and Joey Landreth, and has hosted her own songwriter show at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe.

“Mallory took a roaring room to silence with her excellence. There are few artists that innately have this kind of command. What a gift it is to witness artistry at this caliber. Mallory is someone you want to know and remember.”

— Jeff Ojeda (Phase Entertainment)
