The Spring Songwriter Series continues with round two of this three-part Friday Night Sessions lineup—an evening built around original music, shared stories, and a true listening-room experience.
This songwriter-in-the-round format brings artists together on one stage, taking turns performing and offering insight into their songs as the night unfolds. For this edition, Anddre Mafra and special guest Melina Spiga will share a spot in the round alongside the evening’s other featured songwriters.
April 24 features:
Anddre Mafra
Brazilian-Canadian artist Anddre Mafra brings a genre-blending approach to songwriting, weaving indie-folk, alternative, and Latin American influences into his music. His debut album Interior is a bilingual exploration of identity and emotion, touching on grief, love, acceptance, and joy. Written and produced entirely by Mafra, the project includes tracks like “Rockstar” and “Amar Demais,” along with collaborations with multinational Canadian artists. Mafra has performed across Canada and Brazil, sharing stages with Andy Shauf, Saveria, and Terno Rei, and has received recognition including a 2025 Forest City London Music Awards nomination and Brazil’s Aldir Blanc prize.
Melina Spiga
Montreal-based singer-songwriter Melina Spiga blends languages and influences to create a distinct musical voice. Writing in French, English, and Brazilian Portuguese, her work draws from jazz and folk traditions while leaving space for improvisation as a core part of her creative process. Her songs are marked by poetic lyricism that plays with words and emotion, often creating imagery that leans into the surreal.
Wild Waters
Wild Waters is a Stratford-based singer-songwriter rooted in a jazz-folk style. Growing up in a musical household, she has spent years performing in bands and collaborative projects before stepping into her own as a solo artist. Her songwriting is deeply personal, often unfolding as a process of self-discovery and healing. With a sound that draws comparisons to Norah Jones, Cat Power, and Stevie Nicks, Wild Waters brings a warm, intimate presence to the stage. Whether performing in cozy venues or connecting with fellow creatives, she aims to share honest songs and build meaningful connections through music.
Mimi Dominique
Toronto-based folk singer-songwriter Mimi Dominique draws on her background in theatre and storytelling to shape her music. As the daughter of two actors, she brings a strong sense of narrative and presence to the stage. A 2025 participant in Folk Canada’s Developing Artist Program, Mimi has performed across the country and is set to release her debut album this summer. Her songs lean into the tradition of honest storytelling, connecting people through shared experiences.
Seats are limited, and we encourage you to reserve ahead of time to guarantee your spot. Pay What You Can contributions are added to your bill at the end of the night, with all proceeds going directly to the artists.
