Youth Discoveries: The Road to Summerfolk — Preliminary Round
Saturday, April 11 | 6:00 PM
Free to attend
The Bunker Performance Lounge & Cafe is proud to host the Stratford preliminary round of Youth Discoveries: The Road to Summerfolk — a program dedicated to supporting and showcasing the next generation of folk artists.
Created by the Georgian Bay Folk Society, Youth Discoveries gives performers aged 14–22 the opportunity to step onto a festival-style stage, connect with other emerging artists, and gain valuable experience through mentorship, workshops, and live performance. It’s a chance for young musicians to grow their craft, build confidence, and begin carving out their place in Canada’s folk music community.
This Stratford showcase is one of four preliminary rounds taking place across Ontario, with two performers from each city advancing to the finale in Owen Sound on April 26. Additional wildcard spots will also be awarded, with up to five finalists ultimately earning a performance slot at the Summerfolk Festival this August.
Expect an evening of original music, fresh perspectives, and artists at the beginning of their journey — all in an intimate listening-room setting.
Come out and support emerging talent as they take the stage and compete for a spot at Summerfolk.
